Award-winning conference and banqueting centre Sandy Park is now even more accessible for London based organisations, with flights between London City Airport and Exeter commencing on October 27th, 2014.
Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has scheduled three flights per day between the capital and Devon, with a flight time of just 70 minutes and fast track security for all customers – shaving up to 2 hours of travel time by train. Flybe has also carefully selected the timings of the flights so commuters can reach the South West first thing in the morning and be back in London by 8pm.
Matt Roach, managing director of Exeter Airport said: “These flights will give rail services a real run for their money and are generating a lot of interest. The timings are so good, whether for a day’s work or for a short leisure break and we expect to see a lot of demand in both directions, especially because of Exeter’s gateway position in the region. We’ve also committed to fast-track London City passengers because this is all about time-saving air travel.”
Travellers from London will arrive at conveniently situated Exeter Airport, which is just 10 minutes from Sandy Park and adjacent to Junction 29 of the M5 motorway.
Sandy Park, home of Aviva Premiership rugby team the Exeter Chiefs, has recently undergone a £10 million refurbishment and boasts large, state of the art facilities to suit a wide range of conferencing requirements.
2015 Rugby World Cup venue Sandy Park houses nearly 2,000m2 of five highly versatile conference suites, catering up to 900 delegates. The spacious, light-filled rooms include data projectors, plasma screens, internal PA systems and private bars.
In addition, a series 18 Seminar Suites are available for smaller groups, who will be able to appreciate the view over the Sandy Park pitch towards the East Devon countryside and Exe Estuary.
Sandy Park would like to give organisers the chance to see Sandy Park and Exeter for themselves and so have teamed up with Flybe and the Heart of Tourism Partnership to offer a limited number of Familiarisation Visits, which will also include an overnight stay and a VIP hospitality experience at an Exeter Chiefs match.
