Sandy Park, Exeter’s award-winning conference and banqueting venue, has recently been recognised by the Meeting Industry Association (MIA) to have achieved the Accreditation in Meeting (AIM) standard.
AIM is a multi-faceted accreditation, designed by independent industry professionals to cover the essential compliance, competencies and capabilities meetings and events venues and suppliers should adhere to in their everyday operations.
Sandy Park was assessed by the MIA against a set of common quality standards which are agreed by the MIA and endorsed by the HBAA and more than 35 UK business tourism destinations.
To achieve AIM, Sandy Park demonstrated exceptional standards against quality assurance criteria, including assessments focusing on a venue’s facilities, service and processes, compliance with codes of conduct and corporate social responsibility.
Speaking about the recognition for Sandy Park, Head of Corporate John Wood said: “With the increase in size of Sandy Park’s Conferencing facilities, and the opportunity to attract more nationally based customers, it’s positive to receive recognition from one of the industry's recognised bodies.”
“For event organisers, it’s always good to know that a potential venue has been vetted by a 3rd party they can trust, and give them the assurance they need when booking.”
AIM is the UK’s only nationally recognised standard for accredited venues and service providers in the meetings, conferences and events industry. There are around 500 accredited venues and suppliers at entry level of the scheme.
AIM is endorsed by Visit Britain, Visit Wales, Meet England, ABPCO, MPI and HBAA.
